| Front Page --- News ---Buy from Wal-Mart? |
| In the past few months there has been a large number of web sites popping up on the net that are selling leather gear. Competition is great for the consumer, and we don't have any problem with competition. For true competition, however, you need an educated consumer, and we hope we can help with that just a little. When you buy from some web stores, are you aware that they make absolutely nothing that they sell? In effect, this is much like buying your leather gear from Wal-Mart. Well, actually, it may be even worse. Wal-Mart has a decent refund policy, so if it turns out that what you buy is a piece of crap, they'll take it back and give you your money back. Some of the new web sites for leather gear won't even do that. They'll only give you a store credit against future orders (that's just what you want, buy more from the same place you just returned everything). | More importantly, what are you going to do if your expensive piece of gear breaks in 6 months? If a place doesn't make their own gear, then they surely don't have the skills to repair it either (repairs are most often more difficult than making it in the first place, ask any leather crafter). So after 6 months, you can kiss your bucks bye bye. Leather Creations is owned by leather crafters. We were making leather gear for our own use, and for friends, long before we even thought of opening a business. We make 90% of all the leather gear we sell, and that which we don't is also made by other individual leather crafters, and we back their workmanship just like we back our own. So when you look at some of the new high tech web sites produced by these resellers, remember that Leather Creations' business is leather. We do OK with our web site, but we aren't professional web site designers. We are professional leather crafters, and isn't that who you should be buying leather from? Jim |
